New Portable CCD Accessory for MAT using Tablet PC
There are numerous applications throughout industry where components, jigs or fixtures need to be
precisely aligned, set straight or made parallel or square to each other. The Taylor Hobson Micro Alignment Telescope
using CCD technology automates and digitises the alignment telescope to allow faster, more repeatable readings while
allowing the operator to be remote from the process if necessary.
The
new high resolution CCD option with software automatically senses the position of targets to ensure a fast set up
time, measurement and analysis with digital output. This means that on large alignment projects such as aircraft
jigs or large machine tools, a single operator can make adjustments along the construction while viewing the target
which is displayed on a monitor. Target readings can be recorded along the component and then output as a graph/results
table or saved for further analysis. Analysis of the results can give advice on the required precise adjustment of
the component under construction to bring it in line quickly. Distance measurements can also be made to an accuracy
of a few millimetres.
The system can be used with a laptop or tablet PC option for even greater portability.
