Aspheric/Spheric Lens Profile Measurement System non-contact "Conoprobe" gauge

Spectrum Metrology has applied the revolutionary non contact "Conoprobe" gauge technology for the rapid measurement of aspheric or spherical profiles of lenses.

The main advantage of the Conoprobe is that it creates extremely precise digital images of virtually any surface - including the most difficult to measure components - at very high speeds, and at stand-off distances once considered unfeasible. With measurement speeds of up to 500 points per second the entire measurement process for a lens takes just a few seconds (depending on the lens diameter and selected data point spacing).

The lens is mounted on a location device which ensures that the profile is measured over the centre of the lens. A rotational stage could also be supplied to facilitate measurement on more than one diameter.

Preset measurement routines automatically determine the measurement parameters (nominal diameter, data-point spacing etc) and input the Asphere coefficients to which the measured data is to be assessed.

Both the profile and the error to the design data are displayed graphically; in addition the numeric data is tabulated and stored for further processing or use as a correction file.
