Digital Small Angle Generator for Calibration of your equipment

Digital Small Angle Generator

Equipment such as autocollimators, angle gauges, electronic levels, and level vials used in block levels require periodic calibration to verify their capability for precise measurement. The DSAG Digital Small Angle Generator is a device for obtaining precisely known small angular deflections, allowing users to calibrate their own equipment.

The instrument is designed to measure precisely small angular deflections for checking autocollimator, Talyvel, bubble vials graduations, angle gauges, etc.

It consists of a beam which is pivoted at one end on rollers; the other end can be moved a known amount by means of a displacement transducer in conjunction with a fine threaded screw. The transducer rests on the steel ball mounted on the base.

The beam carries a mirror reflector to test/measure autocollimator or any other optical light beams. The beam also has a dedicated ground face for checking Talyvel and bubble vials.

The beam is raised or lowered carefully by means of a fine threaded screw. A Solartron transducer is constantly in contact with the steel ball measuring the deflection produced by the fine threaded screw.

Alternatively Taylor Hobson has its own UKAS laboratory which can offer an independent, traceable calibration. Regular service and calibration will guarantee that the performance specification is traceable to international standards.

We also offer other less sophisticated sine bars, granite tables, straight edges, squares and alignment telescope test equipment. Please contact us for further details.
